Monday Chic

Hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend! : ) 

Wearing all black doesn't have to be boring! I think wearing an all black outfit with your hair pulled back can be so chic, especially when mixing different patterns and textures together. Here I've teamed subtle floral, three quarter pants from David Lawrence with a panelled top from Zara. I love this top so much, I also have it in white and of course they go with every outfit. 

To finish off the look, I added simple silver jewellery, black pumps and a cobalt blue jacket in case it got a bit chilly. 

Adding pops of texture to a mono-colour outfit is a great way to look really put together and chic (even though sometimes we don't always feel this way on a Monday morning!)

Monday Muse: Ascia

This is one stylish couple; husband and wife duo Ascia & Ahmad share their love for fashion on their blog - The Hybrids. 

I came across Ascia's Instagram page and was so inspired by her love of fashion and use of colour in her daily style, I decided to feature her in today's post. 

I love how Ascia isn't afraid to use a mix of colours and textures in her outfits, like in the picture above. 

Her use of pattern is perfect and these colours are very harmonious together. The look is just so put together and quite glamorous with the gold sleeves and nude Christian Louboutin heels. 

I really like how she has a turban to match every outfit - this adds a lot of character and is her signature look. Her use of clean, crisp lines also seem to be present in all of her outfits which gives Ascia an always polished look, which I really admire. Pulling off a jewellery collar or drape isn't easy, but Ascia does with ease - she adds layers and texture to her outfits by accessorising with jewellery or scarves.

Hope you all had a good start to the week! Monday is always the toughest after a great weekend, but it is one step closer to the next : ) 

I like to start my Mondays with a fresh vegetable juice with carrots, beetroot and celery. Gives me the nutrients I need for the day and is actually really tasty as well!

Today I wore my winter, floral skirt from Sportsgirl. I love the length of this skirt and how comfortable it is. 

I paired it with a black long sleeve, cotton top and my favourite Wittner heeled, black boots. 

Love a good scarf to top off an outfit and this grey pashmina was really nice and warm. 

My baby pink purse is from Zara and was such a good buy! Only $99 and it's such great quality. I really do like the bags that Zara sell. 

My hair I kept simple, in a little bun and the same with makeup. I don't generally wear a lot during the week to work.

Business As Usual

Happy Monday to all! Not my favourite day of the week..but got to make the most of it : ) 

It was business attire as usual for me. I always tend to go for something easy on a Monday, and a dress is a great option. This navy number I got made while in Vietnam, so it's made to fit. This style of dress is perfect for work - not too short and with a nice pop of colour.

I didn't want to go too bright so I added a black peplum jacket from Cue. This was a tad expensive but worth every penny. I get so much wear out of it and it's a twist to the everyday blazer. I added a thin black belt to sinch the waist, black stockings for warmth more than anything and black flats. 

I finished off the look with a blue and silver statement necklace to dress up the outfit. I like maching the colours on jewelry to the clothing im wearing, like I've done here.

Maroon Monday

Who wishes it was still the weekend?! Meee!! 

When I woke up this morning, I wanted to wear something comfortable, while still looking put together. These black pants, I found at Glassons a couple of years ago and they've treated me very well! They're always my go to pair when I'm having one of those mornings. You know the ones when you can't find anything to wear, even though you have an entire wardrobe full of clothes in front of you haha! I just love how they fit me and they're black, so they match with anything. I was feeling a bit of maroon as well, so I teamed this peplum top (also from Glassons)with the look. I added my favourite ankle boots from Wittner to top it off - so comfy and a nice chunky heel on them. They are definately my 2014 Winter must haves!
