Black & Gold

Sooo it's the holidays..well for me it is anyways! Christmas is pretty much here and I'm so happy to have some time to chill out and enjoy the remainder of the year. I'll hopefully be posting some more OOTD's over the break with a little more time to spare.

This look was a favourite of mine over the last couple of weeks. Picked up this black cutout dress from Witchery whilst in Noosa. I love the length - I can really appreciate slightly longer dresses these days. Much more classy! I've paired with it, gold sandals and jewellery and my fab Louis Vuitton Speedy. I also have a new accessory in the form of a henna tattoo which I'm loving!!

Hope you all have a safe and fun Christmas with your family and friends!

Patterned Pleats

I'm loving this warmer weather and the fact that getting dressed in the morning is so much more simpler without having to worry about about layers of clothing!

I picked this pleated midi dress up from Asos a little while ago and have found myself gravitating towards it recently. The t-shirt top gives it a more casual vibe, yet the pleated skirt can be quite dressy. It's a bit of both worlds.

For work I teamed the dress with my baby pink Sambag flats, a nude belt and Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag for a casual outfit.

Boating Attire

This week, my team at work were rewarded with a day cruising around beautiful Sydney harbour on a catamaran. Of course I had to make sure I had a cute and comfortable outfit for the day, so I popped into one of my favs, Country Road. They have some really lovely basics out for Summer and I could have easily picked out a whole new wardrobe, but stuck to one outfit (pats self on the back)!

I wasn't really into skorts when they came out last Summer, but this one just spoke to me; the colour, pattern and the fabric. It's thick and stretches a bit, which makes for a more flattering skirt...I mean skort. I love the bright summery pattern too! My navy singlet is also from Country Road and is such soft material, it's more of a luxury singlet. I teamed the outfit with nude sandals, gold jewellery and my brown leather Michael Kors handbag. This bag just goes with everything and I like how big it is...fits all of my junk in it! My nailpolish of the day is from OPI, called 'can't find my czechbook'.

The outing was a great success, relaxing on the water in the sun with a few ice cold drinks!

I hope everyone's had a fab weekend and has a great week ahead!

Denim on Denim

I love a good double denim ensemble! It's such an effortless (but still like you put a lot of thought into it) kinda look. These are my regular dark denim, skinny jeans from Jeans West. I really like that they sit a little higher on my hips - my pet peeve are jeans that show the world everything when I sit down.

Denim shirts are all the rage as of late, especially during mixed seasons when you never know what the weathers going to be like. They can be so versatile over a girly dress, worn as a shirt teamed with leggings or jeans, over the top of a singlet as a bit of warmth and so on.

These flats from Witchery have definitely seen better days. I just love the silver, baroque pattern, plus they're really comfortable. My bag is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull - it's my go to day time bag. It fits all my essentials and is the perfect colour. I've topped it off with some simple jewellery, including my gold Michael Kors watch, rose gold Swarovski ring and some fresh water pearl studs.

Enjoy!

How to Wear a Kaftan

Gone are the days where it's only acceptable to wear a kaftan at the beach. The warmer months are here and there are some seriously stylish kaftans in stores that offer a multi purpose.

I'm sure you've all heard of the amazingly talented Camilla Franks and her gorgeous designer kaftans. They just ooze extravagance and have an exotic array of colourful patterns. Another great place to buy kaftans is Seafolly. They have so many fun, bright colours with both short and long options.

Kaftans are great for any sort of day time event, whether it be a pool party, baby shower, lunch catch up or house party; they can really be dressed up with a nice pair of wedges. Or if heels arent your thing, they look great with flat sandals. But you're not just limited to day time, adding some chunky jewellery can really amp up your look for a fun night time outfit.

We all know that famous scene from the second Sex and the City movie when the girls are having a fabulous lunch in the desert. Carrie has the most gorgeous pink kaftan style dress on, with chunky gold bangles and curled hair. She's such a style icon and the fashion from both the movies and the television series have influenced so many women's style over the years.

I'm keeping an eye out for some fabulous kaftans to add to my closet this summer and I'm sure I will find one for every occasion!

Florals for Spring

I've sort have been stuck in a fashion rut recently and feel like I've been sticking with my 'go to outfit' of jeans...quite regularly. I tend to shy away from buying other styles of pants when shopping, because I've always found it so hard to find the right fit. They're either too short or too tight around the hips. I'm trying to break that mould and branch out to something a little different, especially in the warmer months.

These floral pants I bought from the local markets while in Vietnam. They're so comfy and can be worn either casually with flats (like here) or dressed up with a nice pair of heels. I did buy a few pairs with different patterns, so you may see them popping up here a bit.

For casual Friday in the office, I teamed these bad boys with a black panel top from Zara, black flats from Country Road and my Louis Vuitton Neverfull.
I'm not big on chunky jewellery, so kept it simple with my Michael Kors gold watch, Swarovski ring and studs.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for some new pants over the long weekend, amongst other things : ) what are you all up to?
