A few weeks ago I made an appointment with the brow queen of Australia herself, Amy Jean of Amy Jean Eye Couture. I was really looking forward to the appointment and Tuesday was finally the day!
I discovered Amy Jean on Instagram and noticed how fantastic she was at her craft of waxing brows. There had to be a reason why celebrities flocked to get their brows done by Amy, and I wanted to find out for myself.
Amy Jean Eye Couture is located right in the heart of Sydney CBD in the St James Trust building opposite Hyde Park. When you exit the lift, you wouldn't expect to find a beauty salon hidden behind one of the black doors. The salon itself is quaint and beautifully decorated with French style furniture, which gives it a boudoir feel.
I was greeted by Amy and made myself comfortable. Amy was so lovely and asked me what the story was with my brows. I explained that I do like a fairly thick brow but trusted her to shape them as she saw fit. She passed me a mirror when she was done waxing and plucking, to show me how she filled them in which was a nice touch.
The whole appointment took about 15 minutes and was very relaxing. I loved how my brows looked afterwards - they've never looked so perfect! Makes such a difference to your face having well kept brows and makes filling them in a breeze.
Because of my positive experience, I'm going to continue seeing Amy maybe on a 6 week basis to maintain my brows. I would recommend her to anyone who is serious about brows and the importance of maintaining them. Some may think it's a bit pricey and self indulgent, but to me it's 100% worth it!
